24-hour hotline to support mental health in the music industry launches

Finally some help for those struggling in the music industry...

Help Musicians UK, the leading UK charity for musicians of all genres, has launched a new phone line aimed at anyone who works in the music industry and might be suffering from mental health issues.

The Helpline, which will be manned 24 hours a day, is part of the charity's Music Minds Matter campaign — which was launched in the wake of the death of Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, who tragically took his own life after struggling with depression.

Evidence suggests that people who work in the music industry are three times more likely to suffer from depression, with Help Musicians UK's own health and welfare team seeing a 22% increase in requests for help in recent years.

Those needing help and/or emotional support are urged to contact the Music Minds Matter line 24 hours a day, seven days a week, free of charge at 0808 802 8008.
